A southern site of 15 hectares owned by MSDC, lying to the south of Nightingale Lane.
Nightingale Meadows MAP v1 (Map by John Batchelder.)
Connected to Batchelors Farm by a footbridge east across the railway, it comprises five meadows, hedgerows, two small areas of young woodland and two ponds. These are swimming holes for local dogs and have little wildlife value; one is infested with parrot feather, an extremely invasive foreign aquatic plant.
There are extensive views of the Downs to the south.
