“Meet the Wild Things”

“Meet the Wild Things” is a series of free, wildlife-themed events for children during school holidays, weather permitting. They are on display at the Help Centre in Burgess Hill, where places can be booked in advance, as well as on Town Council noticeboards around the town. All events are from 2 pm – 4 pm, unless otherwise stated, meeting in the car park by the football pitches off Maple Drive.

Wednesday 30th. March      Pond dipping and bug hunt.

Wednesday 6th. April             Pond dipping and bug hunt.

Wednesday 1st. June              Pond dipping and bug hunt.

Wednesday 3rd. August        Meadow sweeping and bug hunt.

Wednesday 10th. August     Meadow sweeping and bug hunt.

Wednesday 17th. August     Meadow sweeping and bug hunt.

Wednesday 24th. August     Meadow sweeping and bug hunt.

A two-part event: Humane small mammal trapping.

Tuesday 30th. August***3pm – 5 pm

Baiting and setting Longworth traps.

Wednesday 31st. August      Opening traps, releasing animals.

Wednesday 26th. October   Bat walk (To be confirmed, with time.)
