Most of our events are free, though donations are always welcome to help fund our work. Every penny you donate supports conservation.

However, because our indoor talks involve hall hire and speaker costs, for these we charge non-members £3 each and members £2 each, but entrance is free to under-16s.

Event Information:

  • Batchelors Farm Meadows

This site of 13 hectares is owned by Burgess Hill Town Council.

    Batchelors Farm Map

Batchelors Farm lies to the south-east of Burgess Hill on the east of the railway.  The water tower is a prominent landmark on the site.  It is connected by a footbridge across the railway to Nightingale Lane Meadows.  Comprising meadows, hedgerows and a stream, it offers fine views of the South Downs and the Jack and Jill Windmills on Clayton Hill.

A small fenced area in the south-west corner contains some fruit trees and a wildflower meadow planted by Oakmeeds School pupils, helped by FoBHGCN.

  1. We just wanted to say thank you for a great afternoon yesterday.

This is the first safari we have been able to come to and we had fantastic time.

I just managed to arrive in time for the start after an early shift and I was amazed at the size of the crowd waiting to go in!

Our two boys thoroughly enjoyed the activities which you provided. They both filled their sticky cards, and were fascinated by the bush craft demonstration, pond dipping, animal bones and bug hunt.

Thanks again for a great day, we’ll definitely be back next year if you run the event again!
